A Midsummer Plate, Solstice Sun Tea, and Big News Coming Soon!
Happy summer solstice to all who celebrate 🌻
Hello cheese sluts!
Before we dive into the summery offerings below, I want to invite you to take one deep, indulgent, cleansing breath. It’s been an awful week, our nervous systems are likely fried, and we need a little extra oxygen. Breathe in, gathering all your anxiety, frustration, and dread, then lose yourself in one powerful exhale, releasing these dense shadows until your lungs are completely empty.
I hope that makes you feel a little lighter, even though it doesn’t change the circumstances that are weighing all of us down.
Luckily, we have a bright, shining light arriving at the end of the week. This Friday brings the summer solstice, also known as midsummer or Litha. Named after the Old English word for June, Litha celebrates the moment when the sun has climbed to her highest point in the sky; her energy peaking as her light shines over the longest day of the year.

At least, that’s what I’m telling myself, because I’m making a huge announcement this Saturday, the morning after the solstice (hint: it rhymes with “you look”). Check back on Saturday morning for the big reveal!
Below the paywall, you’ll find a luxurious, solar-powered cheese plate inspired by Litha and a recipe for a solstice sun tea. I hope you take a moment to celebrate the sunshine this week!
Before we get to the recipes, I want to highlight one of my favorite cheese organizations: Cheese Culture Coalition, a nonprofit organization working to promote equity and inclusion within the cheese industry by empowering BIPOC communities through education. Consider celebrating Juneteenth by donating to their wonderful cause!
Now, let’s get to those Litha offerings…
